Hypnotherapy for low mood in Stockport · Online across the UK

When you do not quite feel like yourself.

Perhaps you feel flat, tired or stuck. Everyday things have started to feel heavier than they used to, and the motivation you once had feels harder to find.

You do not need to be at your lowest to ask for support. Sometimes it is enough to notice that something has changed.

“You do not have to feel the same as everybody else, or as you used to, to deserve support.”

Does any of this sound familiar?

Low mood can be difficult to explain, even to yourself.

Many people describe feeling withdrawn, going through the motions or losing interest in things they used to enjoy. Everybody experiences it differently, and there is no right way to feel.

01

Feeling flat or empty

Everything can feel muted, as if the colour has been turned down on ordinary life.

02

Tired with no clear reason

You may sleep, but still feel exhausted. Getting through the day takes more energy than it should.

03

Losing motivation

Tasks you once managed easily may now feel too much, and it is hard to make yourself begin.

04

Withdrawing from people

You may find yourself cancelling plans, staying quiet or avoiding conversations you used to enjoy.

05

Being hard on yourself

Telling yourself that you are lazy or should be coping better, when what you actually feel is stuck.

06

Feeling stuck

Knowing something needs to change, without any clear sense of where to start or what would help.

Low mood can sometimes be connected to depression or other mental health conditions. If you are worried about how you are feeling, please speak to your GP as well. Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical assessment or treatment.

A question I often ask

“When did it start to feel like this?”

Low mood rarely appears from nowhere.

Sometimes it follows a clear event—a loss, a change at work, a relationship ending or a difficult period that never quite lifted. Sometimes it builds gradually, from months or years of pressure, disappointment or putting others first.

What people often do not realise is how much the beliefs formed during those times continue to shape how they feel now. “I always let people down.” “Nothing ever works out.” “There is no point trying.” These ideas can sit underneath the surface, quietly draining energy and motivation.

Hypnotherapy and RTT can help us find where those beliefs came from and begin to change them.

You do not have to know the reason before we talk. We can work it out together.

How I may be able to help

A calm, practical approach.

In person in Stockport and online across the UK, I use Clinical Hypnotherapy and Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) to help you understand what has been happening beneath the surface and begin to move forward.

We look underneath the mood

Rather than only managing how you feel day to day, we explore the experiences and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.

Your session is personal to you

I do not use a generic script. Your words, your experiences and what you want to change shape the session and your personalised recording.

Small steps matter

You do not need to transform everything at once. We focus on what would make a real difference to how you feel now.

I am honest about fit

If I believe you would be better supported by your GP or another professional, I will say so clearly and respectfully.

A clear, unhurried process

What happens if you contact me?

You cannot book yourself straight into a therapy session. We speak first.

  1. 01

    We speak first

A free 20–30 minute telephone conversation. You tell me what has been happening, and we decide whether I may be the right person to help.

  2. 02

    I understand your situation

If we agree to continue, you complete an intake form. I read it before we meet so I understand what matters to you.

  3. 03

    Your session is personal

Usually two to two and a half hours, without rushing. We explore what has been keeping you stuck and begin to change it.

  4. 04

    You take support home

You receive a personalised recording to listen to for at least 21 days, and I normally check in personally within the first few days, again during the following week or two, and once more at around three to four weeks. The timing is flexible and shaped around the individual.

35 years of noticing when somebody was not quite themselves.

Why work with me?

I have spent my working life talking with people who felt stuck.

Over 35 years of working with people in Stockport, I have sat with many who were struggling to find their motivation, feeling flat or losing confidence in themselves. I learned to notice when somebody was going through the motions, and to make it easier for them to say so.

I do not talk to people as if they are a diagnosis. I talk to them as people, honestly and without judgement.

I want you to feel heard, not processed.

Common questions

Before you decide whether to get in touch…

Is this the same as depression?

Not necessarily. Low mood is something everybody experiences from time to time. When it lasts for weeks, affects daily life and does not lift, it may be depression—and that is something your GP can help you understand. Hypnotherapy can sit alongside medical support, but it does not replace it.

Do I need to be at my worst to contact you?

No. Many people contact me because they have noticed that something has changed and they would rather address it early. You do not need to wait until things become unmanageable.

What if I do not know why I feel like this?

That is very common. You do not need to arrive with an explanation. Part of what we do together is understand where the feeling may have come from.

What support is included afterwards?

Your personalised recording, which you listen to for at least 21 days. I normally check in personally within the first few days, again during the following week or two, and once more at around three to four weeks. The timing is flexible and shaped around the individual. I may also send relevant information such as Rules of the Mind if it is useful.

Are sessions face-to-face or online?

I offer in-person sessions in Stockport and online sessions across the UK. Most of my RTT sessions take place face-to-face, but we can discuss what feels right for you.

How many sessions will I need?

Everybody is different. Some people find one session enough; others decide a second would be useful. We decide together after you have had time to listen to your recording. There is no package to commit to.

Begin with a conversation

You do not need to be certain. You only need somewhere to begin.

Tell me a little about what has been happening and ask any questions you have. We can decide together whether I may be able to help.
